Daivaradhane

Daivaradhane is also known as the worship of Daivas or Bhootas or sathyas, it  is an ancient ritual performed among the Tulunadu community. Which is basically worshipping ancestors. during the month of September to may in and around Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts in Karnataka. 
The kola/ nema has 16 ritual followed by  coming of ‘Bhandara’(the things which belongs to daivas), telling pad-danas which describes daiva's/ bhoota's story, putting on the  Aradala (make up), wearing the Gaggara, etc.  
 It is believed that during Kola/nema, for a fraction of seconds the Daiva’s Spirit comes into the person performing it , which is commonly told as  "mukkal-mooji-galige"  in local language . Kola/nema is performed with utmost respect and dignity. people of the family gather together during this event to take a blessing from daiva/bhoota.
There is the involvement of the all caste of people, who has their own roles and responsibility during this ritual which clearly shows the unity amoung tulu community.
